We are writing to let you know that as of today, RYCE will be closing our doors, as we revisit our business model. We have been incredibly proud to partner with the students of East High’s culinary program in the creation of this restaurant. We set out with a big idea to give kids in Rochester the opportunity to learn the restaurant business and grow as people in the process.

Despite tremendous support from the University of Rochester, donors and the community, we are facing significant challenges and are working with our partners to further consider the future of RYCE. We thank our many friends and loyal customers for their support, and will be back in touch with additional information as it becomes available.

Student Highlights

This restaurant would be nothing without the East High School students who have created it and who operate it! We will regularly feature a student and their experiences & thoughts. Check here to see what they have to say.

“We are more than a restaurant, we are more than cooks, we are more than East High scholars, we are more than just some teens. We are an experience…RYCE.”

RYCE was developed by Seniors in the 2016 East High Culinary program. Dominique was one of these seniors, and was adamant that he attend EVERY meeting we had so that he could learn as much as possible, for one day in the future he will open his own place. He only missed two meetings in 2 years!
